Push to open, push to close

»

She has learnt that she would be able to find mama or papa if she pushes the doors. It was a little hide and seek game that I played with her some time ago. I would left the door slightly ajar and attract her attention by making all sort of noises. Naturally, she would crawled enthusiastically to the door and started crying there, cannot enter. After a few demonstration of using the hand to push the door open, she got the hang of it and was on her way to more exploration.

One new trick learnt always lead to more dangers lurking to strike. She has been pushing open the bedroom door to go in there to play with the dvd player, playstation and her pack of diapers. Our bed has a very low bed frame with sharp edges, I hope she is balanced enough not to hit herself there. She is also very fond of entering the study to play with the very dirty carpet, the cables and the battery charger. She also enjoy licking the metal legs of the table and chairs, probably very cooling on a hot day. But I think what she enjoys most is able to locate our whereabout and feel safe that we are close by.

So this little fella got into trouble today. She thought she is very clever in pushing door open, but didn’t realised that if she pushed the door from inside, it would close it. Thus, she got trap in the bedroom today because of this act. We spent some effort in getting her out. Couldn’t force open the door as she was right behind it, and I really feared jamming her fingers or toes under the door like myself (sigh, the nail of my bruised toe dropped, looks so ugly). I think we have to make it a habit to close the doors of the dangerous zone properly.
