Another Baby Carrier

»

Though I like my sarong sling very much, I seldom use it nowadays. The thick cotton makes me sweat and feeling sticky all over on a warm day. The sarong kept sliding lower due to Yauyau’s weight and I have to constantly adjusting it. And her bums don’t seem to sit on the sling very well, fed up!

bow2_325x245.jpgI just found out one more kind of baby carriers from Irene’s site, the Mei Tai. Looks very interesting and pretty, and seems to be rather cooling too. And the carrier has its root in Asia, from our Chinese 老祖宗. The back carrying style looks cool too and the carriers come in a wide variety of pretty fabrics. So far in Singapore, I have not come across any Chinese style carrier. I am tempted to get one myself, but I will control, maybe KIV until the next one arrives.

Wow…love the fabrics too! Is the carrier expensive? No price on the website.

Pretty right? I’m still trying to justify spending US$55.00 on it. I’ll see how long before I give in. LOL… Irene

    Hi Hui Leng,

    So pretty!

Just saw your link on AP and decided to pop by your site :O) I was contemplating bringing in the Mei Tai from Ella Roo: http://www.ellaroo.com/mei-tai.html Love the ornate embroidery!

Wah, but check out the price: http://store.peppermint.com/er-chinese-mei-tai.html

Mind-boggling. :P Are you using vpostusa to bring in US products?

Which sarong sling are you using? I’d be happy to help you with it, should you need any assistance.

It might help to start the ring a little higher, pull the edges of the tail to tighten (vs the whole tail) when adjusting. As for the bum-placement, make sure all the cloth is under the crook of her knees when you first put her in. Or is her bum not on it because she wriggles? ;O)

Yah, very pretty, but the price is really steep!

Mag, we seldom get stuff from US, so usually just shipped through what avenue the company offers. But am thinking of switching to vpostusa in future if it can lower the cost.
I am using the sarong sling from MIM. I always try to start the ring higher near my shoulder, but somehow the ring will slide further and further down with each subsequent tightening or adjustment! And her bum, maybe it is not “big” enough to sit on the sling properly? :P anyway, thanks for the tips, I will take note of them.
