Hard Up For That O-Shaped Finger Food
» motherhood
I have long run out of Cheerios for about month, and is still unable to get hold of a new box. I am not desperate. Not being to find it anywhere just makes me more insistent to track down one, I just refuse to give in to idea of it being as precious and scarce as some rare gem.
I have been to Guthrie House, the place where I gotten my first box, but it was out of stock. That was about a month ago. Later, I made trips to Rail Mall, then Causeway Point, Holland Village, Bugis Junction, Raffles City, and today just checked out Ngee Ann City and Paragon… rotton luck! Last Thursday, Dory told me Guthrie House has restocked Cheerios, she has bought the Cheerios as proof, and Yauyau ate a lot and certified her statement as a valid one. So I made another trip to that gourmet store again. Argh! The store assistant told me it was out of stock (again!) and new ones will arrive in May. I nearly wanted to give him my phone number and beg him to tip me off when the Cheerios are up on the shelves again.
I decided to order online, but it was out of stock too at the Cold Storage’s online shopping site. I really really don’t understand. If it is so so popular, why isn’t the supermarkets bringing in more of it? What is the problem? Profit margin too low? Unable to gauge the market demand because of its more expensive price? Or what?
Next time, maybe I should just buy one big carton of it and sell them to friends who suffer as many similar failed purchasing attempts as me. Or help me find some other less sugary bits size finger food suitable for children and get me out of the cheerios search.

Try the Marketplace at Tanglin. Cheerios, Honey Nut Cheerios, Apple Cinnamon Cheerios! But, oddly, never all three at once…

Theres plenty at Cold Storage ( Heartland mall) going for more than 10 bucks! I saw plenty at NTUC Bedok & Marine Parade selling for about 8.60. You might want to give them a call first before you wander down. There are two supermarkets at Jurong Point that you might also want to take a look

Thanks for all the “tips”. It just shows how unlucky I have been, going to all the wrong places.

I tried Jurong Point before, but they only have Apple Cinnamon Cheerios which is extremely sweet and unsuitable for kids. Oh yes, the ultimate hunt for that O shape snack! I went to JP, followed by Guthrie House twice before I finally managed to get my box.
Btw, another alternative is Gerber veggie puffs.

I like them because they do not contain any sodium unlike Cheerios and only 1g of sugar per serving.
You can get them at Giant (I got mine at Turf City).
