Congratulations for having gone on this long! I couldn't wait to quit when Sara was 11mths. Anyway, she drinks her milk (formula) from a bottle, but water from a straw cup. I tried to go onto regular milk when she was 13 mths, but she had an allergy attack, so am holding off for a bit. But I'm with you - soooooo convenient if they took regular milk. It would certainly make travelling a million times easier.

I am into my 11th month of bf, Declan used to be on EBM fully, nowadays my supply has gone down and each day I can only manage 2 EBM feeds. Now I only express twice a day.

Since he turn 10 months, I have been contemplating to stop.. but I just can't bring myself to do it. Whenever I want to stop, I will remind myself that, some mamas who really wish to bf aren't able to do it due to various reasons, so since I can, even though supply is not much now, I should continue. That's why I think until now, I am still giving him EBM and supplement with Formula and of course he gets his cereals, porridge and snacks.

I will probably be stopping soon too.... drying up leh...

Yes, the behavior is exactly the same. Tim even twiddle with my nipples sometimes. When i was slinging him and nursing at the same time, he would also 'hold' on to the other breast for comfort. Sometimes i was irritated by it but other times, i just think its cute. Usually i would distract him with something else like letting him hold his foot, his pillow or a toy to keep him busy. I will definitely miss BF if it ends cos it seems that Tim might just be our only child...

Weaning already? I don't have the courage to. Tim still depends a lot on BM. His solids intake is like about 30% only and the rest is BM. Its interesting to note that Tim also likes to switch sides every few seconds like Yauyau... i wonder if this is due to age :P

Perhaps when he starts to cut his teeth, i will have the same issues of weaning. He still gums me sometimes but grinding teeth against skin is definitely more painful!

Fresh milk as in full cream fresh milk that needs to be put in fridge ? But do they have the necessary nutrients ? Mine is taking BM exclusively and refuse the bottle/cup/spoon/straw when I try to give her formula.

Isn't it wonderful to be able to bf Yauyau as a SAHM?

I am facing prrob as my supply dwindled ever since I started working...

Is Yauyau willing to drink from a cup? Avent's Magic cup is not a bad choice...Mag Mag is not bad too!

I have a prob with my baby's 'itchy gums' she bites! And YES! OUCH! so painful!

Phoebe, so it is the same! Do you find it annoying that the kid keeps changing sides? I am always irritated by that act, as if she is playing with my body....hehe

Yupe, Fannie, I have tried both sippy and mag mag straw cup. Sippy is out now, I think she is not willing to suck out the liquid, and I find it difficult to get rid of the grim if I don`t wash immediately. The straw cup has been very useful, but I mainly use it to serve her plain water as she has this habbit of pouring out the water and swipe the liquid with her hands, what a mess. I think she is too use to direct feeding, so she doesn`t have the concept of sitting still and downing a full bottle of milk at a go.

Fresh milk might not be as balance in nutritious value as formula, but I think it still provides the neccessary nutrients they need. It is more for convinent sake, pouring out from the carton is easier then boiling water and mixing the exact amount of water and powder. Can also grab a pack from the fridge during outings.
