I have been real slow in responding to all comments, emails lately. Not that I have been prompt and efficient in the past, but I took days for a simply reply, and missed some of them completely. It is all the fault of some annoying spammers who eyed on this blog and my inbox ended up with a large number of junkies. And my mail filters have to be in non working condition at this period of time. I simply dreaded opening my mailbox and thus conveniently ignored many genuine post and mails. They are somewhat fixed, so hopefully I will find no more excuse to be missing in action.
I have also been getting a number of enquires about joining a playgroup. Too bad many of them are working moms and couldn’t join our weekday group. Some live too far away, and some looking for playgroup that cater to older kids. There are many interested and eager parents, but too few playgroups around. Maybe there are, but not known to us.
My comment area at the playgroup section couldn’t handle the enquiries anymore, as it does not facilitate a more organised discussion. I thought setting up a platform to allow parents to start a new group, recruit participants or seek out existing group.
I hope Playgroup Singapore (what a big name! haha) will facilitate parents in forming or joining a group. We have enough forums and discussion boards to exchange pointers, so the main purpose of Playgroup Singapore is really aimed at matching parents with the right group.
Please, if you are interested in starting a new group, leave a message there about your intention, I promise a dozen of parents will be eager to join. If you have an existing group and welcome new members, please make an announcement of your group there too, or start a permanent new category pointing to your group.
We have the honour of hosting the legendary Chocolat family last Saturaday. Actually, after meeting them, I didn’t feel so honoured anymore, because I found out tha they are like us, also busy with kids and eager to share whatever happened to them. The only difference is, they are famous.
Anyway, I found out quite a few things about this famous family. mr chocolate might need to consider changing his name to mr milky bar. He is a big slab of creamy white chocolate. I think it is in his genes and no amount of UV ray can alter that.
mrs chocolate really looks much sweeter in real person. I think mr chocolate also needs to improve his photo taking skill in order not to do misjustice to the pretty face. unlike mr chocolat, the missus talks only when necessary. That is probably one of the reason to explain their strong relationship; mr chocolat rattles on non-stop and the missus will listen without complain.
miss chocolat has really nice slender and well tone legs, despite the fact that she is only four. Definately not those thunder tighs or bamboo sticks we see around, they just look so atheltic to me. Anyway, Yauyau seems to prefer her to the brother. She is definately much friendlier.
The young master chocolate is a territorial animal. Besides peeing and shitting (in his diaper lah, where else!) to mark his territory in my house, he also roared at Yauyau when she tried to established contact with him.
I found a good way to abuct him. Just lure him with his favourite wriggles and he will lost his feriocious animal instinct and sit quietly like a little white rabbit.
Yauyau was again acting up upon seeing so many strange face. But having two other children around really helps to lift her spirit in the pool that day. That day was the first time she enjoyed pool session so much and didn’t protest about staying in water too long.
I was more excited about my first visit to St Andrew’s Cathedral then the fact that it was my friends wedding big day. And it was also wrong of me to try to act womanly
and not tied up my hair and I later realised that it is not air conditioned, a misconception I have with local churches.
My cheerios plan worked out perfectly and they kept her hands and mouth busy. She has a great cheerio good time during the 1.5 hour service. That should be a new record for her.
Her duckie bag attracted quite some attention. Actually, that is only a very uninteresting duckie bag I bought from NTUC at dirt cheap price. I was thinking of finding something really overly cute, obiangly loud or super ah lian style. Never mind, this duck will relief for a while. She will be carrying her own diaper and wet wipes now. And I tell myself that I am not going to be the school bag carrying mother when she starts attending school in future.
My shortie is growing taller despite the fact that she seems to remain a shortie. Lately, I noticed that her diapers have been showing below her dresses. I thought they were overloaded with her wee wee and get them changed. Then I thought it was because the new pack of Huggies was too big a size for her and switched back to Mummy Poko. I also accused the dryer for shrinking all her clothes.
I am probably entrapped with the idea that she wouldn’t hit that tall model like height in future all along and believe that she would remain a little gnome forever. But I attained sudden enlightenment tonight and realised the dress she was wearing was way above her knees, definitely wouldn’t pass any disciplinary mistress scrutiny in school.
Short skirt plus great Singapore sale, which would give me the perfect excuse to do some shopping for her.
At the mean time, I have this new skirt sent all the way from kiwi land, compliment of my sister-in-law, who loves all things sweet and pretty. The pink flowers are so lovely, and the organza so cute. The super oversize poor skirt barely managed to sit on her hips, all thanks to the diaper. My sister-in-law must be trying to fulfill her childhood fantasy to wear an organza skirt. Perhaps the kid would be able to grow to the right height and size for that skirt next year when she returns.
