Solution… have another kid or two… my eldest didn’t have a chance to get that way because #2 came along when he was just 16mths old. He and #2 play together now most of the time… they will go to their room and close the door and ignore us, leaving us in peace to do our own things. Life is good. I’m hoping #3 will grow up to be like that too. Heh.

Actually one way if you want to knit or crochet is to teach her and engage her. Or maybe do some cute felting work - have her trace the papers etc.

That way, you can enjoy your time with your kid!

LH is the same. He will hold my hand and tour around the house and order me to sit wherever he wants to play his toy or watch TV. If I attempt to shake him off, he will start to cry, climb up our bed and wait for me to go and pacify him. If I do not attend to him, he will climb down after 2 mins and come and look for me again.

I guess this is a passing stage, just wondering how long will it last.

My girl is the same!!!! I can’t even go to the toilet - she sits outside, bangs on the door and cries. If I try to shake her off - she throws the most massive tantrums with headbanging and all - very drama. I hope this phase will not last too long too!!!

I kinda enjoy the bonding at this phase though. It could be trying especially when we want to get our things done. They wouldn’t stay this size for too long. Cherish the moments… it will be gone before we know it

Boy, we really should start a Clingy Kids Club. Exactly in the same position here. I agree it’s probably just a phase. My solution? Pack her off to school. She attends school twice a week for a few hours each time. Gives me room to breathe. My part-time helper also takes her off my hands a few hours twice a week too. So all in all, my sanity is still intact. And her boredom solved by having new pple and toys around her. Yay! Cost a fortunte, though…

It may be very frustrating at time but looking at the bright side. we should actually enjoy such attention given to us while we can. In time to come it will be us, as parents who wants to do things with them but it will be them, as children, who will think that it’s no longer cool to do things with parents.

Opps, haven’t been loggin on for a few days and only found out so many of us are going thru the same situation.

I certainly hope this will quickly pass. Yah, I know, the kids will flap their wings in a wink of time and won’t want to cling on to us anymore, but … sigh, thats still many years ahead…hehe. I am begining to miss the pre-baby life when I can enjoy so much freedom.
