Hi, I kind of stumbled upon your website while reading some parenting articles. Your blog has very interesting information! And yes, I'm a breastfeeding mother too, and my boy is coming to nine months soon. Need some advice from you, my milk supply is running real low, and I do actually intend to feed my boy as long as he wants to.. any good tricks or advice to increase milk supply? More fish? more fluid? I have tried.. but still not working..... btw, i'm a working mom...

Hi, I've been visiting your site regularly to get pointers on bringing up baby because I've got a baby girl of my own.
Which day of Today featured your blog? I'll love to read it. By the way, your playgroup is in Oct issue of Simply Her!

Hi Genesis! Thanks for sharing your experience. Ah, I can totally understand what you meant by "I-can't-get'back-to-sleep-need-BOOP" feed. She is exactly the same! Thats why I am having a hard time trying to wean her off my breast. She neds it for comfort, to sleep, to stop crying, to stay happy, and I can't bear to see her wailing and pleading me "nair nair nair nair..." lol

Annoymous, I guess Genesis was refering to the little mention of this site by Miyagi's column on Wednesday. Yeah, you are right, the playgroup is in Simply Her too, things always seems to happen all together.

Congrats on your breastfeeding journey! Sounds like your toddler's breastfeeding is wearing you down emotionally these days. There is a book about breastfeeding beyond one year, "Mothering Your Nursing Toddler". It talks about what you describe: realizing your personal limits on what is working or not working in the breastfeeding dynamic between your and your not-a-baby-anymore baby. And if you need to info or just a vent about breastfeeding, can call La Leche League of Singapore: 7000-555-4636.

glad I stumbled upon your website & hope you're feeling less abused soon!

Well done! You've done a great job with Zee Yau. ps: you are now famous, article in the TODAY paper on your site.

Just to share, I had a horrible time bfeeding my son initially. He has been exclusively bfed for 14 months now...

When he was born, he could barely latch on, so I was forced to pump for 3 months before he learnt to latch, but he only managed to latch on the right side! So imagine, I was only feeding directly on right side after he hit 3 months, left side, completely express the whole day. Now my son is 14 months old and walking and talking already. I've just stopped expressing from left side, and today have finally weaned ALL feeds except the "4am-i-can't-get'back-to-sleep-need-BOOB" feed. Once he stops bfeeding entirely, think I'll be a little sad because he is generally not the affectionate sort, so bfeeding is our only time of closeness!

Anyway, just wanted to say I envy all you bfeeding mums with kids that have no problems latching on. I found my son appeared to be a little less self-confident and more clingy during the time I was weaning him. Hope he doesn't suffer psychological problems from the weaning! Btw, my weaning wasn't by choice, medical problem. So have to do it.

Good luck with weaning Zee Yau! Any reason why you are waiting for her to self wean if you feel there is no more benefit to bfeeding her already? I have heard girls can take up to 1 extra year to wean from the time you start trying...

Hello to all mothers out there. Was searching Google for breastfeeding mothers when I saw this website.
My baby boy is now 3 days to 6 months. He was almost exclusively feeding on breastmilk (as I work, I had to pump. Otherwise, he would latch on) for the 1st 4 months. He started teething after he turned 4 months and started refusing thawed (from frozen) breast milk. I've lots of frozen breastmilk and they will be undrinkable (after 3 months come end May). Any mother wishes to have them for her baby? Genuine requests, please. I hate to see my milk go to "waste". Please email me at gcdlim@catholic.org if you wish to have them - please leave me your contact no. so I can call you directly.
My baby was a good drinker until he turned 4 months. Before that, he just drank & drank. He was 8.8kg at slightly over 4 months. He was only 2.77kg at birth! Everyone says that my breast milk must have been very nuitritious. At 5 months 1 week, he was 9.9kg.
I love breastfeeding him. But it was not all smooth sailing. It was awful during the 1st 2 months as he was drinking every 2 hours or so & my breasts were very full all the time. I had lots of difficulty using a breast pump & ended up with engorgement, blocked ducts etc. Miraculously, after I prayed & prayed, I finally mastered the manual breast pump & managed to continue breastfeeding despite going back to work after my maternity leave ended.
I'm now into night & morning direct feeding, as he refuses to drink much pumped milk (even freshly pumped). Anyone encountered such a picky baby?
