Semi Successful
» motherhood
Our little girl is almost there. She still don’t like her little potty, however, she isn’t rejecting the adult toilet bowl. I guess she just want to imitate the adults, especially having seen her mommy getting busy in the toilet repeatedly for so many months. Opps, kind of embarrassing to tell the whole world about not closing the toilet door, but that’s the universal practice moms adopt, isn’t it?
Anyway, after so many failures in trying to toilet training Yauyau, I am glad to put on record that she is able to pee pee and control her bladder more like a big girl now. Like all our previous training attempts, it didn’t start too well. She would tell us she wants to shhh shhh, but most of the time, they were false alarm and she cried her way to fight away the potty. Then we realised she has the habit of wetting herself standing up. Therefore, we put away the uninteresting potty, and let her relieve herself on the bathroom floor. Yeah, we have to clean up after each attempt, but it is a much better idea then sitting on the potty. When she graduated to the squatting position, we know we are on the road to success this time.
And here she is, helping me save diaper expenses. Well, we are 50% successful though, she still prefers to poo poo in her diaper. It can be quite scary as I suspect her to control her output until I put on her diaper during night time. Anyway, as she grows older and has more understandings and control over herself, I am sure she will say goodbye to her beloved diaper one day.

Hi, too bad I couldn’t meet you and Yauyau when I was in Singapore. But anyway, three cheers for being on the way to potty train Yauyau! It’s definitely not easy but like one mom say we got to hang in there.
I started when I went back to UK slightly more than a month back. I have been putting off and waiting for summer when it was warmer so I guess it’s about time. But of course in the beginning he didn’t get the idea so there was pee everywhere, mountains of laundry and endless mopping. We had the potty seat in the living room at first so that he might be entertained by the telly while he sit there a little longer for some output. We have since moved it back to the toilet when he gets better as he sprays his wee everywhere as he sits on the potty in time. I can’t quite scold him because he is doing it right.
We have moved on to going diaperless outdoors in familiar places where I can find the toilet easily. We have even more accidents outdoors than indoors. Like the time we went reached the park and he started peeing in his pants and I had no new change of clothes for him. We had to walk all the way back home. He was disappointed but he seemed to be better the next time.
We are all getting there!

My son also started pee in the potty but only poo after i put the diaper for him at night. Don’t worry when she is really she will do it in the potty by herself. That is what happened to my son. I have been training him to poo in the potty but he refused to until one day he volunteer to do it in the potty
